CAC Tools for School program provides free backpacks and school supplies to local children! The program is open to school-age children of lower-income families who live in Sandy Springs, Dunwoody and the part of Doraville served by Dunwoody schools. Recipients must be CAC clients, and it is necessary for families to live in this area to qualify for CAC programs.

This program provides up to 1,000 students with new backpacks filled with school supplies appropriate for grade requirements, customized for most grade levels. Registration is required and supplies are limited.

The application portal opens on Monday, May 16, 2022; backpack distribution will occur in late July.

Donate to the Tools for School Program!

Give kids Tools for School and help prepare them for the start of school with the tools they need to learn! Donate online to Tools for School and your dollar goes further to help more children. Your donation of $40 provides for a new backpack filled with school supplies, a $50 retail value, because when you donate to CAC your dollar buys more with wholesale purchasing! CAC’s Tools for School is unique, providing new backpacks filled with school supplies customized per school and per grade, all free to children of families in need. Your donations help about 1,000 students a year at 12 area public schools. CAC’s annual Tools for School drive takes place every spring and summer. Your support helps local children be proud to go to school and prepared to learn for the new academic year! CAC also accepts donations of school supplies and backpacks. Most needed items are large sized, heavy duty backpacks.
