Leadership Sandy Springs kicks off its FREE, outdoor summer movie series, Movies by Moonlight (MBM) on Sunday, July 17, with Grease, followed by Disney’s Jungle Cruise, on Friday, August 12, and Encanto, on Friday, August 26.

Movies are shown on a 30ft inflatable screen on the lawn at City Springs at dusk. Food trucks and LSS movie concessions begin at 6:00pm and children’s lawn games, sponsor tables and live music begin at 6:30pm, which adds to the fun, festival atmosphere that has become a hallmark of this Leadership Sandy Springs’ signature community event.

Rosalyn Putnam, the leadership nonprofit’s new Executive Director is excited to experience her first Movies by Moonlight. “I know Leadership Sandy Springs loves connecting our community through this free, family-friendly film series. From what I understand, what began with the Leadership Class of 2004, has become an integral part of the summer programming at City Springs. We’re happy to help bring this event to our community and appreciate all our alumni volunteers, sponsors, and the local nonprofits we’ve invited to partner with us as we continue to build a better Sandy Springs.”

At Jungle Cruise on August 12, the Community Assistance Center (CAC) will be collecting food pantry items, gently worn children’s clothes and shoes, and will offer a sign up for CAC volunteers. “As a member of this year’s LSS class,” shares CAC CEO Francis K. Horton III, “it was critical that Movies by Moonlight feature CAC as a partner for a better community. This chance to interact with our neighbors, collect donations, and talk to potential volunteers helps us grow stronger as a community.”

“Movies by Moonlight continues to get better every year. We couldn’t do it without the support of the City of Sandy Springs and our generous sponsors,” explained Putnam. “We look forward to seeing everyone at the movies!”

Parking is available in the garage and in lots and spaces around City Springs located at 1 Galambos Way (corner of Roswell Rd. and Mt Vernon). For more information, please visit LSS’ website event page, ask a question on the MBM Facebook page or call 404.256.9091.
