Sandy Springs, GA – The Sandy Springs Connects! Career Expo, a free career-focused event helping jobseekers get face-to-face with Sandy Springs and Perimeter area businesses, returns once again on Wednesday, March 13 from 11:00am-2:00pm at the Studio Theater at the Sandy Springs Performing Arts Center. The City of Sandy Springs, the Sandy Springs Perimeter Chamber (SSPC), and the Community Assistance Center (CAC) Career Center are partnering to connect skilled individuals with career tracks offering competitive salaries, benefits, and room for growth.

“The Sandy Springs Connects! Career Expo has been a great tool in getting our job-seeking residents to connect with the impressive business community in our backyard,” states Mayor Rusty Paul of the City of Sandy Springs. During the previous career expo, held in September 2023, nearly 200 jobseekers interacted with almost 20 local companies. A post-event survey showed that 75% of responding employers scheduled interviews with a career expo attendee, with at least five job offers made on the spot.

“An event like this helps jobseekers cut through the red tape of online applications and get face-to-face with hiring managers and other decision-makers,” shares Xianqin “Lisa” Wallace, Director of the CAC Career Center. With the quantity and complexity of networking sites, job boards, and online application portals on the rise, being able to ‘cut the line’ and speak to someone at the company directly can expedite the job search process.

Not only that, “…Sandy Springs Connects! allows skilled individuals to show all they have to offer, not just what AI software deems beneficial in a resume,” continues Wallace, having seen similar scenarios while helping jobseekers at the career center. “All Sandy Springs and Perimeter-area residents seeking a new career opportunity should attend this free event, to improve their lives by finding a great job right here in Sandy Springs.”

Companies participating include State Farm, Northside Hospital, Graphic Packaging, Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, and more. “The quality of career opportunities available in our community are exceptional,” shares Adam Forrand, President of the SSPC. Sandy Springs is home to several Fortune 500 companies, hundreds of mid-size companies, and thousands of small businesses. “Our vibrant business community makes Sandy Springs a great place to live and work,” Forrand continues, “and this career expo highlights that value.” The average Sandy Springs Connects! participating employer is recruiting for several roles in departments such as IT, sales, marketing, human resources, medical, legal, accounting, and more.
