CAC provides food to individuals and families seeking assistance. Food is given on a per family basis, not a per individual basis. We give non-perishable groceries, freshly prepared foods and produce when available, and holiday baskets.
Groceries
Groceries are provided once a month. Groceries are non-perishable food items such as dry goods and cans and may also include household paper products, baby food and diapers.
Freshly Prepared Foods and Produce:
Through the Second Helpings program, CAC provides freshly prepared food and produce once a week if it’s available.
Holiday Food Baskets
CAC gives clients a Holiday Food Basket in either November or December. The Holiday Food basket is NOT included in the 6 times per year limit for groceries.
Requirements: Applicants seeking assistance with food must live in the cities of Sandy Springs or Dunwoody, GA within the following ZIP code areas: 30327, 30328, 30338, 30342, 30346, 30350.
Applicants must make an appointment. You will need to bring the following documents with you to your appointment:
- Identification
Social Security card or picture ID - Proof of Residency
Copy of current apartment lease or mortgage
Adults not named on the lease must provide proof of address. - Documentation for all Residents Living at a Given Address
Social Security cards or picture IDs or for children proof of school enrollment or birth certificate. - Proof of Income
May be provided by a pay stub, IRS tax documentation, or AFDC/Food stamp letter.
