Applications are closed. We’ve had an overwhelming number of applications, and want to make sure that every child that is already registered receives a gift.

CAC Holiday Gift Program

Every child deserves a chance to celebrate the holidays with their family! CAC helps you give your children a gift for the holidays by matching your family with a donor from our community anonymously. Through the program, the donor will purchase gifts for your children using the wish list that you provide, including size and color. The donor brings the gift to CAC, and we make sure that you can receive the gift in time to wrap it and and share a holiday moment with your children. In 2022, over 1,600 children received gifts through CAC’s Holiday Gift Program.

1. APPLICATION

You start the process by filling out an application, including information about your family and children.

2. MATCHING

We share your wish list and basic family profile (no names are shared) with the community for selection by a donor.

3. GIFT PICKUP

Once the donor has delivered your family’s gifts to CAC, we will contact you to pick them up to take home.

Existing CAC Clients

If you have received aid from CAC in the past and have children aged from newborn up to and including 18 years old, you may apply for the Holiday Gift program. Exceptions can be made for children with special needs.

Required Documents

  • Birth certificates or passports for all children
  • Photo ID for all adults in the family
  • Current lease, mortgage statement, or proof of residence
  • Proof of school enrollment for your school age children

CAC must have these current documents for 2023 on file. If CAC does not have these documents, please send in jpeg or PDF format to holidays@ourcac.org and include your full name in the subject line of the email.

New CAC Clients

If you are a family that lives in CAC’s service area (Dunwoody and Sandy Springs, or the area of Doraville served by Dunwoody schools), you may apply for the Holiday Gift program. You must provide the documentation needed to become a CAC client, which also gains you access to other CAC services such as food and clothing.

  • Current lease, mortgage statement or proof of residence
  • Proof of school enrollment for your school age children

You will be contacted and asked to come to a CAC office to register as a client. You will need to bring with you the documents as shown in the list above.  

Program Process

With these six steps, you’ll make sure that you are registered for the CAC Holiday Gifts program! If for some reason you do not receive the emails in step 2 or 3, please contact holidays@ourcac.org with your full name in the subject line.

2. Click on the verification link

Once you submit the application, you will be emailed a verification link to the email address you provided on the application. Click on the verification link in the email to complete the application process. Your application is not submitted until you verify your email.

3. Receive the confirmation email

Once you have clicked on the verification link, you will receive an email to confirm that CAC has your application, including a summary of your application details. If you have any changes to make once your application is confirmed, please email holidays@ourcac.org with your full name in the subject line. 

4. Answer any questions from CAC

You may be contacted via email or phone if CAC needs any documentation from you or to clarify the information in the wish list. 

5. Receive approval

Once all your documents are in order, you will receive confirmation that you are in the Holiday Gifts program. Your family’s story and wish list information (without any personal information) will be added to our online profile database. CAC does not guarantee that your family will be matched with a donor.

6. Collect your children’s gifts

If your family is adopted, you will be contacted to pick up your gifts from CAC. As this depends on when your donor delivers your gifts, CAC will contact you as soon as the gifts are available. The possible pick-up period begins on December 1, 2023 and runs for about 2 weeks.

  • All personal information provided by you is confidential and will not be shared with donors.
  • The maximum number of children you can register on one application form is 9. If you have more than 9 children in your family to register, please contact CAC.
  • Please answer the 3 questions about for the “family story” as fully as you can. This information (without any personal data) is provided to potential donors, and is a key factor in encouraging a donor to adopt your family.
  • CAC will use your mobile phone # and/or email address to communicate with you. Please be sure to advise CAC of any changes.

    Gift Wish List:

    • Please make 3 gift wishes for each child .
    • Bikes: maximum 2 bikes per household for children ages 3-8 years. Please select the appropriate height of your child to ensure they receive the correct size bike.
    • For clothing items or shoes, please select appropriate clothing or shoe size for each child.
    • Children ages 13 and over: the choice is for a gift card, clothing or shoes only.
    • Please use the “additional comments” field to inform us of any special needs, preferences or other relevant information on your child or their wish list. This is especially helpful for the donor, so that they can purchase the most appropriate gift for your child.
