About the Tools for School program

CAC’s Tools for School program provides free backpacks and school supplies to local children. The program is open to school-age children of  families in need who live in Sandy Springs, Dunwoody and the part of Doraville served by Dunwoody schools. It is necessary for families to live in this area to qualify for CAC programs.

This program provides around 1,000 students with new backpacks each year, filled with school supplies appropriate for grade requirements and customized for most elementary schools. These school supplies reduce the impact of financial emergencies on students and give them an even start at the beginning of the school year. An application for this program is required and supplies are limited.
