Sandy Springs Police Department

The Sandy Springs Police Department (SSPD) was created in 2006, and serves the community with 154 sworn officers. Operations are coordinated from two districts – North and South. There are four patrol shifts and each shift is commanded by a lieutenant and two sergeants. The Patrol Division is complemented by specialty units including the Street Crimes Unit (SCU), Traffic Unit, Narcotics and Vice Unit (NVU), and Criminal Investigation Division (CID).
